Randall (Randy) Gentry was caucused into office on January 25, 2025 to fill a vacancy on the County Council. Gentry currently serves at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis as the Director of External Affairs for State Treasurer, Daniel Elliott. Gentry has a long history of public service at the local, State, and National levels. He has served in numerous executive positions and has been a trusted appointee to various positions by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, two different Indiana Governors, the Indiana Secretary State, and the Indiana State Treasurer. His most notable government tenures are nearly 10 years on the Indiana Parole Board as Vice Chairman, 4 years as a special assistant to the President of the United States serving in various roles for both the President and Vice President of the United States at the White House, US Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade and Development Agency. Gentry has received the Sagamore of the Wabash and Kentucky Colonel awards, the highest awards a Governor can bestow upon a citizen in their respective states. Gentry enjoys public service and looks forward to using his decades of government experience to help our Vigo County Community to be the best it can be and he vows to be accessible to all citizens to help navigate concerns or issues they may have.
