Redevelopment

The Vigo County Redevelopment Department administers the Vigo County Industrial Parks I and II and various other economic development initiatives for the Vigo County community.

The Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation (THEDC) provides economic development services on behalf of the City of Terre Haute and Vigo County.  The focus of the THEDC is the attraction and retention of companies engaged in advanced manufacturing, life sciences, logistics and other industries that hold the greatest opportunity for bringing good paying jobs and investment to our community.  Our website is www.terrehauteedc.com.   We serve as the manager of the Vigo County Industrial Park as well as the former Pfizer property campus, which we are calling Vigo County Industrial Park II.  (The website link for these properties is www.terrehauteedc.com/vcipark.)  The THEDC works closely with the Mayor, County Commissioners, City and County Councils, City Department of Redevelopment, the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and other entities to bring economic opportunity to the City of Terre Haute and Vigo County.

The Vigo County Redevelopment Commission is the owner (of unsold parcels) and developer of the Vigo County Industrial Park I and II.  The Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation functions as staff of the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission in regard to industry attraction and retention efforts as well as for the day-to-day management of the properties.  The Vigo County Redevelopment Commission is a six-member body appointed by the Vigo County Commissioners.  The current members of the VCRC are Mary Caye Pfister, President; Rick Jenkins, Vice-President; Rick Burger, Secretary; Pat Ralston, Member and Jackie Lower, Advisory Member.  (There is currently one vacancy.)
