Councilwoman Marie Theisz

Councilwoman Theisz serves as an At-Large Council representative of Vigo County.  As a public school educator for nearly 25 years she has always been passionate in teaching students about the power of voting, civic engagement and how history impacts our daily lives. Marie has also served as a Delegate to the Democratic State Convention in 2016 and 2020, is active with the Vigo County Teachers’ Association, and is a graduate of the Hoosier Women Forward program. 

Councilwoman Theisz is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, earned her Master's in School Counseling and completed her Administrative licensure through Indiana State University. She is married to Andrew Theisz and they have three sons together. 

Councilwoman Theisz was elected in 2020.  Her term expires on December 31, 2024
